Illinois residents already have one of the highest tax burdens in the country, and there’s just no reason for that to be the case. Rather than continually raising taxes, I will continue to work to keep a ceiling on property taxes and ensure that funds are appropriated properly. The goal is to have no waste and no need to raise the tax burden on hard-working citizens.
Illinois doesn’t have a revenue problem, it has a spending problem. As your representative on the Madison County Board, I will work to continue and improve strong fiscal responsibility to make sure your hard-earned tax money isn’t being wasted on government programs that don’t benefit our communities.
Excessive bureaucracy is a major drain on taxpayers, who are too often charged excessive fees, so paper pushers can get paid to do little more than pass documents. Our economy cannot afford frivolous middlemen. One of my initiatives as a member of the Madison County Board will be to continue to reduce bureaucracy so that our tax dollars only go to pay for the products and services this community needs.
My experience as a financial advisor and registered principal means I know all about financial oversight and fiduciary responsibility. On the Madison County Board, I will put that financial knowledge to work for you and your taxes. We don’t need to pay higher taxes, we need to be responsible about how the taxes we pay are spent, and that will be my biggest priority as your representative on the Madison County Board.
I support lowering the tax burden on corporations to encourage them to establish and grown business in Illinois and Madison County. Not only does this encourage job growth and help stimulate the local economy, it also helps reduce the tax burden on Madison County citizens. Additionally, It brings employees to the area who might not live in Madison County, but will pay taxes and spend money on their way to and from work at locally-owned small businesses. This is a common sense strategy that results in a win/win situation for everyone.
Having spent their youth building Madison County into the great, safe community that continues to thrive and be an ideal place to raise a family today, many of our senior citizens continue to give back by donating their time, money, and experience to the community in countless ways. Far from being a drain on our society, they are one of our most valuable assets and deserve our respect and protection.
Despite the value they provide, abuse of the elderly continues to be a serious problem, and one that often goes unreported. Whether the abuse is financial, physical, emotional, or a combination of the three, I am committed to protecting this community’s senior citizens from all forms of abuse and helping them age in place with dignity and grace.
My background in emergency services and regulatory compliance means that I take the safety and well-being of our first responders very seriously. Only with our full support can they get all the tools they need to do what they do best: KEEP US SAFE!
